God’s Tender Mercies do not always come
as miracles that effect nations or whole worlds. Indeed, His
most Tender Mercies come as quietly as His voice which whispers
“Peace” to the troubled soul. Tender Mercies may
come in that single moment when we see the blue of His sky above,
and know, finally and at once, of His Eternal Love. Tender Mercies
come perhaps on that first walk of Spring, when all about is
still gray, and yet, beneath the soil the first wildflower has
pushed its way heavenward to glorify His Name in the full Light
of His Son. Tender Mercies can and do come in that quiet moment
when we give pause at the end of another day, and in humble
prayer give thanks that by His Grace, we know all this beauty
of which He is Author and Master.
Tender Mercies? They come with such profound
quietude. Is it any wonder our hearts fill to overflowing? Is
it any wonder our tears bear witness to His Supernal Nature?
Tender Mercies. They have no size, no large nor small. For they
are His Gift, His Love, His All.
