League Information:
The Summer 2009 Season consisted of 26 teams and
167 darters.
The G.T.C.D.A. is a steel-tip dart league with
members from both Northeastern Tennessee and
Beginning with the Summer
2003 League, the G.T.C.D.A. started using a handicap system
for league play. At the beginning of a
season, each player will be ranked depending on his/her previous league(s)
performance using the following formula:
50% Average MVP’s/Game + 40% Singles Win PCT + 10% Doubles Win PCT + a
Player’s “Big Dart Average” (This average consists of the total award winning
darts divided by the total number of games he/she plays). New players will be ranked as “C” players
unless decided otherwise by the Executive Council.
Players are ranked as follows (difference between
ranks is determined by averaging the previous season’s Top 30 ranking
percentages and dividing by four):
“A” – Over 1.07
“B” - .701 - 1.07
“C” – .351 - .700
“D” – 0 - .350
For this summer season, we are testing a
mandatory handicap system. The formula
used above will still be the base for a player’s handicap, except there will be
no letter ranking. Players will use
their numerical percentage with one dart give for the .15 difference in the
opposing player’s percentage…up to nine darts maximum. New players will be ranked as “.450” unless
decided otherwise by the Executive Council.
