Advanced Choir and Chamber Choir Bring Home the Gold!!
The Advanced Choir and Chamber Choirs participated in a national choral festival in Orlando, Florida March 20-24, 2002. A distinguished panel of national-level adjudicators awarded both choirs with a gold rating (the equivalent of "distinguished" in Kentucky). The Chamber Choir was ranked as the top choir at the festival and in addition, received the Adjudicators' Award for earning scores in the top 5%.

The choirs were also selected by taped audition to perform at Epcot Center, Walt Disney World. They performed on the Future World Stage and were well received by the audience. In addition to the choirs' festival pieces, the men also performed "Betelhemu," a concert favorite, and an ensemble of senior men performed "Stay," bringing the audience to its feet.

Many thanks to the students for their hard work that earned them these honors, as well as for the maturity and professionalism with which they handled themselves throughout the trip. They did a fine job of representing Hopkinsville High School. Our utmost appreciation also goes to the 12 school and parent chaperones who made the trip smooth and safe for everyone.
