*Warning: Started out as a post, ended as a rant about politics, religion, stupidity, and the U.S. You have been warned. Now read it or die. ;) :-p*
You know, I am getting sick of politics. The discussions are pointless, really. The smart people point out all the reasons Bush sucks, and the conservatives/diehard Republicans go on to "insult" them by affiliating them with various "evil" political parties... you know, they are "Dirty Liberals", "Commies", "Reds," "Nazis", etc. etc. Sheesh. Half of those aren't even really insults, or wouldn't be if they were coming from someone with a three digit IQ.
If Bush gets re-elected, this country is royally screwed. Wayu too many people are "Oh, this is the most powerfull country in the world, we are tougher than everyone else, blah blah blah blah blah. No, we aren't. We aren't even close. Sure, we are powerful, for a single country. But that is the problem... we are a SINGLE country. We have practically NO fricken allies thanks to Bush's half assed foreign policy. Weapons of mass huh? I never said nothin about WMD, we went in there to free the people of Iraq!
I mean, seriously, who actually believes that? BEFORE the war, and during, we were going in to get rid of the WMD. Even after the war, that is why we went there (supposedly). Of course, after none have been found for practically a year... We never went in for WMD. We went in to clear an evil dictator. And the Republicans are always saying "Well, he gassed his own people". Yeah. Many, many, years ago. Using weapons WE supplied him with. And we didn't care. We didn't care 10 years ago, and now the public is expected to believe the government started instantly caring about members of another country?
The stupidity of the American populace never ceases to amaze me...
And don't even get me started on Religious Fundamentalists... hell, those creeps give me nightmares. "REPENT, OR BUUUUUUURN". Sheesh. I would be more likely to take some of them seriously if they weren't basing their beliefs on the mistranslated myths of nomadic desert tribes, taken at face value... [/theonion].
You know what the biggest problem is? Stupitidy spreads. Stupid people, by their very nature, have a lot more children than most smart people. Than those stupid children, raised to be stupid by their stupid parents, grow up to have dozens more stupid children. And the cycle continues. I really think everyone should be sterilized at puberty, preferably a reversible sterilization. If humans keep spreading at the rate they are now, in another 200 years there will be no such thing as "private land"...
But then, the average American doesn't think 2 years into the future (as evidenced by the war on Iraq), let alone 200.
Wow, I actually posted something in my blog. 'Course, it was a rant, but it was still something. And not just the random "Blah blah, did nothing today blah" I usually have to post. Granted, from looking at the log of viewers, no one will actually read this. But at least I have the satisfaction of knowing I posted an interesting and thought out (sorta... well, not) rant on my blog.
Ya' know, that is the one feature I wish blogger had that commercial/big journals have... a comment feature.
