Well, I just finished mowing the lawn. I almost ran a frog over, which made me really sad. I didn't want to finish mowing the lawn, 'cause I was worried there were other nice creatures I might harm. I did finish, but I don't want to mow the lawn any more...
On the bright side, although I didn't get my learners permit yesterday like I had planned, I am probably going to go sometime next week, and my mom decided she would pay for it.
Going to be seeing my dad tomorrow... no idea what to think or feel or whatever. Hopefully we will just see a movie or something else that doesn't require a lot of communication, as I have no idea what to say... I mean, I haven't seen him for 15 months...
Somehow I have the feeling I will end up editing the above statement. I'm not a very open person...
Yesterday I went over Bens for D&D. It was just me, Typy, Mike, and Ben, and Ben didn't feel like DMing, so we watched two movies. Kill Bill part 1 rocked, very nice movie. Then we watched "Fist of the Dragon", some low budget chinese martial arts flick. It opened up with random people with blue clothing charging other people - and people just feel down at random, not neccessarily when they were hit. Some of the voice actors were worse than the ones a lot of cheap anime imports get... and that's bad. The martial arts were okay, but the storyline was THE most confusing storyline I have ever seen. Well, it wasn't so much confusing as it was nonsensical. We were 80% through the movie and we had yet to come close to the plot outlined on the back of the DVD case. Oh, and there was this woman, who flipped her big ponytail, and it apparently machineguned the room. Then she attached a huge mace to it (why it didn't rip her hair right out, I don't know...) and swung her head around to beat the opponent. And some lady with buck teeth kept freaking out. And the Chinese citizens in that movie (or at least the voice actors) have to be the least enthusiastic people I have ever heard. Their cheers had as much heart in them as one of George Bush's speaches. They all sounded suicidal... "yeah. yeah. go get him. we shall defeat you.". All spoken at normal voice levels.
Enough ranting on the badly done Chinese movie... We stopped it near the end, and watched Family Guy until 10. Kill Bill was great, though. I want one of those swords...
I went to temporarily install it in the old computer, so I could back up the files there - then I realized that it would do no good, unless I wanted to leave it there until I found my Windows 98 CD, then reinstalled windows, and installed all the software for the network. I dind't want to...
So I just installed it in the new one. Unfortunatly, Alienware forgot to give me screws, so I had to take the screws from the old cd drive in the old computer.
I burned several DVDs - I can practically hear my hard drive sighing in relief - now it has 20 gigs free, instead of 30 megs...
Of course, by tomorrow, it will probably be down to 10 gigs... ;)
The DVDs are really cool. Most blank CDs/DVDs have just a light colour, usually green, on the bottom. These DVDs, however, have a really really bright color. Granted, the color is purple, so it isn't a color I particularly likem but it is a really dark purple. Just looking at the stack of DVDs, you get hit with COLOR. Which is a rather nifty effect - not to mention the dark color makes it *really* easy to figure out which ones have already been written on them. Unfortunatly, the surface they have is difficult to write with sharpie on - it comes out blurred. Still readable, though.
Hm, strangely enough, most of my counter hits come from yahoo/msn search engines, not google, and most are people looking for either pirated stuff or anime, of all things. o_0.
I think I will see what kind of interesting google searches lead people to this page after I type random non-related words.
