Local and State Information . . . .

Jackson County Library - Great place for getting information. Heck, you can even place a book on reserve for your reading pleasure. They have a new computer system that is working pretty darn good most of the time. Windows based, so it easy for the whole family to use. Just point and click.

Jackson County Smartmaps - If you live here in Jackson County, this is the place to check all the information you want on that house you've been looking at. Gives ya the name of the owner, property values, taxes owed/paid. You can even do a sales inquiry. Anything to do with Assessment of the property.

Oregon Restaurant Directory - This site has many restaurants around Oregon featured. Tells ya where they're located with phone numbers. If they have a web site you'll have a link to it.

Oregon Online - State of Oregon - Information on local, state government, education, unclaimed property, road work scheduled, business registration, oregon blue book 1999-2000 edition and tourism information. Just full of information about Oregon.

Southern Oregon Vacation Guide - Here is another super place to get information on the Oregon Coast, Crater Lake National Forest, Valleys of the Umpqua, Rogue River, Oregon Caves, High Desert Outback, and Ashland's Shakespeare!

 

Camping . . . .

ODOT - The Oregon Department of Transportation's travel information website. - Live Road Cams, anything to do with DMV is here. Forms, manuals, and other publications. Accident and insurance information. Info on registration of vehicles etc.. and the list goes on.

Oregon State Parks - Find parks by name or location, rent your favorite campsite in over two dozen parks in Oregon, check out calendar of events for up to a year in advance. This is a great site.

KOA Camping - I can tell you this is one site that will get some use. Hey, it's great to get a camping spot that has clean rest rooms close by, showers, etc... Heck, you don't even have to chase down fire wood. Prices aren't too bad either. Locations all over the US.

Reserve National Park Campsites - So you wish to take a trip out of our beautiful valley, Well here's where you can reserve a campsite at any of 26 national parks, including Death Valley and the Grand Canyon. Request will be processed from 10am to 10pm.(eastern time) Reserve up to five months ahead. Pretty cool Huh. . .

Biggest Bike - Camping List Ever - Here is a compilation of several biker's camping lists, concatenated, sorted, duplicates collapsed, etc., etc., etc. Surprisingly, there was very little duplication of specific items (generalities like "clothes", yes, but specific items, no). However, there was one item that was common to all lists ... yep, you guessed it -- toilet paper ... :-)

Road Conditions . . . .

Oregon Road Conditions and Road Cams - Here is where you can find out what the road conditions are, road work schedules and bullitines, mileage calculator to estimate travel distances and you can even take a peek at what it really looks like at the passes etc... using the highway cameras (cams).

Califonia Road Conditions and Road Cams - Here's a great weather cam for just northern Cal. Nothing like actually looking at the weather. Seems like when I want to go south, it rains. Not a bad thing, I just gotta be ready for the it. Great Site!

Oregon and California Road Cams - Best of the two above, just my own opinion of course! This is a great site that has whole latta road weather cams. This is probably the one to use if you just want one to go to url. But do check out the others listed above this link.

Washington Road Conditions - Statewide traveler information with links to regional construction, traffic, transit, weather, cameras, emergency closures, ferries, and pass conditions. I didn't want to leave out our friends out just north of us!

Canadian Northwest Territories Road Conditions - Heck, I couldn't leave out the Canadians! Since many of us go up there during the summer I thought I'd add them to the list. I hope this is a good site to get the needed information. If anyone knows of a better site, please give me an email.
