A WALK WITH GOD ~~~~>>>
Ever since I can remember I have wanted to walk with God as Adam and Eve did. Later in my life I learned that in a spiritual way I could. Still later, I learned that there will be a time when we will be able to actually walk with God in a personal sense, in His kingdom. At that time we will be able to see Him as He is!
Keeping His Sabbath day is a way to walk with Him now. The Sabbath is a sign of His friendship with us. It is a day at the end of each week to be kept holy, that is, set apart from the rest. It is a day to rest, to think on the purpose of life, a time to evaluate, and discuss with God how your week lived up to His way.
In the very beginning of the Bible God shows which day the Sabbath is. Genesis 2:2-3 says, "And on the SEVENTH DAY God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the SEVENTH DAY from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the SEVENTH DAY and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made." When God says something three times in one paragraph, it is important! It is important to keep the seventh day!
The Sabbath is a gift from God for our strength and joy. (Mark 2:27) Remembering this day every week keeps us in mind of the great purpose of God, and the wonderful world He promised that we can become a part of. With this goal in mind God’s people will be strengthened to walk with God thru this valley of death.
Now let us walk with God through history, and see how His purpose will be worked out.
In heaven Lucifer/Satan started a rebellion against God. He said, "I will exalt my throne above the stars of God." (Isaiah 14::13) Forever after he has tried to stop anyone from walking with God.
Adam & Eve could walk and talk with God. Satan deceived Eve and she and Adam stopped obeying God, and no longer could walk with God. This started a history of human rebellion. Ever since, God has allowed man to walk in his own way and learn, the result of that way. We are still learning that man's way, influenced by Satan, causes tribulations. The first example of this is when Adam and Eve's son, Cain, killed his brother Abel. (Genesis 3 to 4:24).
Adam and Eve had another son named Seth who walked with God. (Genesis 4:25) But...
The rest of the world did not walk with God, and became so bad it had to be destroyed by flood.
In all the world only one man, Noah, walked with God. (Genesis 6 - 8)
Later, Abraham walked with God, and received physical blessings promised to Him. (Genesis 12:7, 15:1-7, 17:1-22, & 22:16-18)
Abraham's son Isaac walked with God, and things went well for him. His descendants would be God's chosen people. (Genesis 28:13-15)
Isaac's son, Jacob/Israel had 12 sons. (Genesis 35:22-26) They became 12 tribes, which lived in Egypt. They increased in numbers until the Pharaoh feared them, and put them into slavery. They did not walk with God.
The 12 tribes of Israel were miraculously taken out of Egypt by God. They were being taken to a promised land of great wealth. But, they rebelled. They had to wander in the wilderness 40 years. What lessons!
In the Promised Land they were to be an example to other nations by walking in God's way, obeying the laws He gave them with His own voice. They did at first, but soon rebelled. (The books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers & Deuteronomy)
One of the tribes of Israel, Judah, preserved God's words, and is the line from which Jesus our Savior was born, so that all can one day walk with God. (Matthew 1:3)
Jesus Christ made it possible for all to walk with God the Father. Most refused, rebelling against God, and crucifying Him.
Jesus told those that walked with Him to keep the Passover in a new way. (Matthew 2618-30)
Accepting Jesus as your Savior is the first step to walking with God the Father. (I John 3:23)
At the first resurrection the great multitude of the saints/elect are caught up into the clouds to meet Christ, and always be with Him. (I Thessalonians 4:14-17) They will walk and talk with Jesus and His Father, increasing in learning and the Holy Spirit.
They will be free of sin, as represented in the Days of Unleavened Bread, and receiving the full power of the Holy Spirit, just as it was given partially on the day of Pentecost. (Acts 2:1-4)
Those who remain on earth will be given God's truth again by Two Powerful Witnesses. Most will rebel, and kill the witnesses. There will be a, remnant, converted by the two witnesses, that walk with God, holding to His laws. (Revelation 11:3-13)
Satan does not want anyone to walk with God. He goes to heaven to capture the elect who were brought there by Jesus, but they are taken to a place of safety there. Satan is defeated, and cast down to earth, unable to ever enter the third heaven again. (Revelation12:1-9)
Satan is wrathful, and according to his nature, he returns to earth, and tries to kill the 144,000 that were sealed, and those who were converted by the witnesses, that are walking with God. God provides a place of safety for them on earth. (Revelation 12:13-17)
Satan then deceitfully puts his mark on all peoples of the earth to their detriment. (Revelation 13:1-13)
God has had enough. He pours out seven bowls of wrath much like those that befell the Egyptians in the past. The people rebel, they still will not walk with God. (Revelation 15:1to16:21)
The 144,000 and those converted by the witnesses are then redeemed, and taken to heaven. (Revelation 14:1-5)
In heaven there will be the Marriage Supper of Christ to His betrothed, which is His church, called Jerusalem, composed of all His chosen that have steadily walked with Him. (Revelation 19:7-9)
God then calls Christ and His bride with a trumpet to gather. They all will return to earth, with Christ leading them as a warrior. Pictured by the Feast of Trumpets. (Matthew 24:30-31) (Jude 14 & Revelation 19:14))
The saints, army of angels and Christ war against Satan and his followers. It is a bloody battle! Jesus WINS! (Revelation 19:11-21)
Satan is put away in a bottomless pit. Pictured by the Day of Atonement. (Revelation 20:1-3)
The millennial reign of Christ begins, as pictured by the Feast of Tabernacles.
During that 1,000 years, those who die obeying God are changed to spirit, and also walk and talk with God for all eternity.
Those who die and do NOT obey God, and refuse to walk with Him, are reserved for the second death.
Now the wonderful part! The dead who died all during time, not knowing how to walk with God are resurrected, and given the knowledge of God's way, and have a chance to choose which way they want to walk. Then they are judged according to the books, the Bible and the Book of Life. This is pictured by the Last Great Day.
Those who had a chance to follow God's way, and chose not to, will be raised, and die the second death. They will be quickly burned to nothingness. (Revelation 20:5-15)
All that will be left will be spirit beings happily walking with God as His family, in His kingdom, for all eternity.
They will live in the New Jerusalem, which will replace the earth that has been burned up, all as God intended. (Revelation 21:4 to 22:5)
