Quilting Background
I started sewing at 3 and began quilting at 7 thanks to my grandmothers who taught me to sew and let me play with their scraps and quilt blocks. I treasure my grandmothers' quilts. Since then I have read hundreds of books on quilting techniques and worked in a quilting store.
I continued to expand my knowledge by creating quilts for charitable causes with Comforting Quilts, an experienced group of Northwest Quilters.
I received a BFA in drawing and printmaking from the University of Minnesota. I use my strong background in color and design to make quilts as well as pastel and acrylic paintings. I am primarily a self-taught quilter having quilted for over forty years.
My quilts are made to be used; so, most of them are queen-sized. I also make lap quilts, wall hangings, quilted garments, placemats, handbags, and so on. There are plenty of ideas bubbling up in my mind for new patterns and projects.
