Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. -Psalm 52: 7-8
The
Olive Tree: It is known for its ability to withstand the
storms. It's tough, and resilient and bounces back when swayed
and bent by the winds of time. Do we want to be a like a
green olive tree in the house of the Lord?
David trusted in
the mercy of God and he is blessed forever. He waited upon God's name and was a good example for god's saints
David tells how he came to stand and flourish when some that were rich and mighty, withered and came to nothing.
...this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and
ever
While others trust in the riches of their own righteousness and services, and make not Christ their strength,
do we renounce all, and trust in the mercy of God in Christ?
If so we shall be like a green olive while they that trust in
riches and their own works, fade and wither.
Have
character and confidence. Continue to trust God to spring His
grace on you. The world is like an uprooted tree, while the
believer is a vigorous well planted Olive Tree. Let's be like
an Olive Tree.
