Hope in God

My Anchor

There is nothing too small in the service of God.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. -Romans 5: 2-5

Hope is mentioned many times in the Bible. It means to have expectation of the glory of God. In this we can boast. Without hope we are most miserable. We have hope and trust in God's promises. When we trust in Christ the Holy Spirit encourages us in our hope in God. We have access by faith into the marvelous grace of which we boast. We can rejoice and glory not only in our future hope, but also in our present troubles. Trials and tribulations produce endurance when we exercise faith during those difficult times of life. If we endure we shall also reign with him.

When we endure hardships, God works in us to develop certain qualities and virtues that will strengthen us and draw us closer to God. The result is fortified hope in God and His promises. We will not be put to shame or humiliation because of our hope in Christ. Why are we so confident? The love of god has been poured out.

The hope of the righteous is gladness, but the expectation o the wicked will perish. Proverbs 10: 28

I will hope continually and praise You yet more and more. Psalm 71: 14  Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober and rest your hope fully upon the race that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. _ 1 Peter 1: 13

--and now abides faith hope and love, but the greatest is love. 1 Cor. 13:13

Reflections of God's Love

Hope

Are you sad, without hope?

Seeming not to cope?

Is your life like a spider web?

Oh do not let it ebb

It is not bad, as it seems

For with Jesus, our life gleams

Hope brings gladness and joy

Satan would love to destroy

A life rested built on trust

But trust in God we must

Hope is our lifeline

Hope makes us shine
