Leaving A Lasting Legacy

How do you want to be remembered?

That you served, cared, supported or praised.  We do not want those dishonoring words linked with our name because of thoughtlessness, or selfishness. do we?

As for me, I  want to be remembered  as one who loved God

Unlike most people, I was raised in a Christian home, which respected God. My father was a minister. I attended Sunday School almost every Sunday.  I often thought of God, while growing up, and there was that emptiness in my life, on which I could not put my finger on.  It wasn't until I was sixteen years of age that I accepted God as my personal Savior.  I attended a Youth Camp and in a morning service I responded to the message, and  finally saw the light.  Slowly I began to grow in God.

After that time, I started to think more and more of how I could please God, and bring pleasure to Him.  After all He gave His life for me.  The least I can do is to live a life wherein God is first in my life, in all things. From the day, that I accepted God into my life, I began to desire to let him handle all my problems.  I at last,  have a way of escape when the pressures of life came tumbling down on me.

God has made a tremendous difference in my life.

 He gives me joy

To know Jesus is to have lasting joy!  He  gives me inner joy, that I would not know otherwise.  I find peace in the midst of the storms of life  I have experienced His power and provision and been shielded from the hurts in the past. Just to know that I can lean on him, brings joy.

Joy from within the heart always puts a smile on my face!

He gives me hope.

He fills my life with new hope and meaning. Hope that doesn't disappoint.  I have no other one  to go to because, like Simon Peter, says in St. John 6 verse 68. ---"Lord to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life"   I rest secure in His Word knowing that God is always there. When I am at my wits end, He is the one I have faith in.  He is a solid rock foundation for hope.  He arose from the dead, and no one needs to die in despair.

(1 Thessalonians. 4: 13-14)

13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

Hope always puts a smile on the face.

He gives  me peace.

Perfect peace that passes all understanding.  When the storms of life batter me, I look to the sovereign Captain of my soul  and commit it all to Him.  He never fails to satisfy me, with the assurance that I need. I may not know what the future holds, but I trust the one who holds the future.  The Lord does not want His Children to live in fear.  Instead He want us to bring to Him all our cares and troubles, and leave the results to Him.  It is not always what we expect or want, but He knows what is best for us.  HE KNOW HOW TO WORK IT ALL OUT.

Peace is one thing I would not want to be without!
