I
guess I could say, "Music runs in our family". I remember
when I was a small girl, I would sing while my Grandfather played the fiddle. There would be gatherings and everyone wanted to sing.
The love of music has never left me. I sang with my sisters when
young, but we later drifted apart and left off the singing. I also
sang when a girl back in our little country church. Once at a singing, I
remember I cried because I wasn't asked to sing. Finally someone
asked why all the commotion, and then I got to sing. Another girl
the same age as me was also crying to sing. She also got to sing.
Now that I look back on the incident it seems funny, but I still love to
sing and play music.
Playing music comes naturally for me. I am not that good, but one day I hope to be. I learned the notes and chords when I was about ten years old and played some after learning. Many years went by without me playing again until one day I decided to purchase a keyboard when they first started coming out big. I asked God to help me remember all I learned years ago, and He did. Jesus always comes through for us. Now my biggest love in my spare time is the piano. The boys are married with families of their own, and now have plenty of time to devote to it. I try to practice regularly. (Practice makes perfect) Mostly hymns and religious songs are what I play. I really wish I could play some of the classics. Grandfather loved to play music. That is probably how it came into our family. I think it is a good thing for people to take music and enjoy it. Music is soothing to the mind, spirit and soul. Harp music
is soothing and peaceful. Music is one of the love's of my
life.
