~Stephen Stoned~

Stephen preached the gospel

Many lives were changed

Now old Satan could not take it

He had too much to lose

Stephen a man full of faith

Looked up to Heaven

There he saw Jesus

Standing up for him

A standing ovation

From the Father's Throne

But down on earth

It was not the same

Noises were so loud

They stopped up their ears

Running toward Stephen

Cast him out of the city

 Stephen was being stoned

While calling upon his God

Lay not this sin to their charge

Then Stephen fell asleep

~Study~

2 Timothy 2:15

Study for God has commanded it.

Study to be righteous in God's sight

When one studies, he is not ashamed.

He knows how to discern the word

The love o god is shed abroad

By the Holy Ghost in our hearts

I am not ashamed of the Gospel

I am persuaded that he is able

To keep, to fulfill, to satisfy

Study the Word

The words of the Lord are pure words:

As silver tried in a furnace of earth purified seven times.

Thou shall keep them O Lord,

Thou shall preserve them from this generation forever.

 Psalm 12: 6, 7

~Pure Words~

Pure Words flowing from the Father

We never, ever have to bother

To know if these words are true

They come from way beyond the blue

Pure Words of God that are tried

Tried as silver, breaks all pride

Purified seven times in the furnace

Do take heed to their sternness

Pure Words of God for us to keep

Loving Words to all His sheep

Preserve them all forever

Twill be a great endeavor

~New Jerusalem~

Rev. 21: 1-4

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

John saw the Holy City. New Jerusalem

Coming down from God. New Jerusalem

Prepared as a bride Adorned for her husband

New Jerusalem. Coming down from God

John heard a great voice, Behold the tabernacle

Now dwells among all men. The New Jerusalem

They shall be His people and God shall be with them

In that New Jerusalem coming down from God

God will wipe away all tears in that New Jerusalem

There’ll be no more death any sorrow, pain or crying

Behold all things are new, former things pass away

In that New Jerusalem, coming down from God

Salvation glory and honor to the Lord our God

Alleluia to the Lamb, we'll sing forever more

He reigns in that city where there'll never be a sigh

In that New Jerusalem coming down from God

New Jerusalem coming down from God

New Jerusalem coming down from God

New Jerusalem That is where I long to be

In that New Jerusalem coming down from God

~Adopted~

Adopted Into God's Family

 Delivering thee from the people,

and from the Gentiles,

unto whom now I send thee

-Acts 26:17

About midday a great light came down Paul's way

For the Gentiles, it was going to be a better day

The light shone so bright, Paul fell to the ground

 Paul's life would now change

He heard a great voice

A new calling from which he could not escape

God sent him to be a light to the Gentiles

That they could receive the inheritance

He would never get away from this duty.

He was now on duty for God

Deliver from Satan's power

Turn man from darkness

Preach forgiveness

And sanctification

To open blind eyes

What a calling

~Consider Lord~

Consider now your servant Lord

Your mercies are great

Thy blessings I await

Consider Lord

Consider my affliction and deliver me

Plead my cause, set me free

Let me now contented be

Consider Lord

Consider how I love thy precepts

All your Words, so true my concepts

Comfort my soul accepts

Consider Lord

Great peace I have. Let my soul live

Glad testimonies I will give

Over and over I will relive

Consider Lord

~Two Went To Pray~

Two men once went to pray

One man went to boast

While the other man was humble

Never a grumble

One  bragged that he was fine

Look at my good standing

The other man smote his breast

God be merciful to me a sinner

Trust not in yourself

Be not self righteous

Boast not of your good deeds

And of your wealth and tithe

A lesson can be learned

Exalt not yourself

 God will then exalt you

Be humble

~Paul's Conversion~

On the road to Damascus one day

As Paul journeyed that way

A light from Heaven came

Paul would never be the same

Acquaintance probably thought it strange

St. Paul, had made a big change

No more persecution of the saints

He now was converted to God

Exceeding great he would become

With much pain and conflict to succumb

Shipwrecks at sea and trials to come

He was to suffer much for God

Paul preached daily  to the Gentiles

And the folks down at Rome

He spend many days in prison

And never knew a real home

Preaching the gospel story of love

To the people at Ephesus and Corinth

A better life was now in view

He knew His God would see him thru

~He Bore Our Sins~

He took our grief and pain

He bore forty stripes
He has taken our grief
For us to be healed
And carried our sorrows
Yet opened not His mouth
He did no violence
With the rich in death
Our Lord gave up
His life for all
He brings Salvation

~Hosanna~

The city was stirred that day

Who's this coming our way

The Prophet of Galilee

 Hosanna in the highest

The people spread their garments

As the gathered that day

Some cut down tree branches

And strewed them in the way

Hosanna, coming down our way

Hosanna His His call to day

Hosanna, in the highest

Hosanna, is His name

~Jesus Bids~

"Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus Bids

Come unto me

All ye that labor

A beautiful  invitation for everyone

He is the way, so come

Come to this everlasting life

His yolk is easy, His burden is light

Come unto Him today

He gives perfect rest

Come that you may have quality life

Bring all your cares to Him

His spirit is calling now

Come unto Him today

Come Unto Me

~Not Afraid~

Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

~Not Afraid~

Turn on the news. What do we hear?

Terror stories! Terror is near.

Ah, Be not afraid. God is here

Abba Father is our help

My heart shall not fear

My Lord is very near

~His Name~

~Jesus~

What a wonderful Name

There is no other like it

It is the only name

Whereby

We can be saved

Jesus is the one I call upon

When I am in trouble

Jesus is my refuge

Jesus Jesus

~Call Upon Him~

Jeremiah 29:12

He will hear you. Call on Him

He will be very gracious

When He hears our cry

He will hear and answer

Have confidence in God

Plan not your own answer

He shall hear you

Make your prayers to Him today

No matter what comes your way

It will be all right in the end

When we are in His plan, it will be good

~The Tongue~

Proverbs

The tongue can do either, damage or good

A righteous man speaks life-giving words

The wicked speak violent words

The mouth of the righteous is a well of life

The wicked speak words of hate

The tongue of the just is as choice silver

The heart of the wicked is little worth

Blessings are upon the head of the just

Violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

The wise will receive commandments

A prating fool shall fall

A man of understanding speaks wisdom

There's a rod for the back of the foolish

The memory of the just is blessed

The name of the wicked shall rot

The labor of the righteous tends to life:

The fruit of the wicked to sin

In the multitude of words can be sin

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable:

The mouth of the wicked speaks forwardness.

He that refrains his lips is wise.
The lips of the righteous feed many

Fools die for want of wisdom.

The righteous shall never be removed:

The wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
The mouth of the just brings forth wisdom:

The forward tongue shall be cut out

BEWARE, WATCH YOUR TONGUE

~Overcoming Trials~

Life is not always a bed so rosy

Sometimes gloom appears

Everything is not cozy

Life becomes full of tears

Thinking of God, it's not so grim

Reading His precious Word

And meditating on Him

I'm happy as a bird

Heavenly joy comes back

Floods of contentment

Life is getting back on tract

Gone is all resentment

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. -Jeremiah 29:13

With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. -Isaiah 26:9

For he satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.  Psalm 107:9
