Poetry From the Heart

Poetry meant to glorify God and encourage the believer. Each poem is supported by a Scripture reference, allowing you to search the Scriptures for clearer insight on the subject matter. It is my desire that the reader be challenged to go forward with God.

~ Shine On Us~

Shine upon our way Lord

Shine upon our sanctuary

That is so desolate

For your mercy's sake

Thou that dwells

Between the cherubim's

Shine upon us dear Lord

Hear our humble prayers

For your sake, shine on us

Cause thy face to shine on us

Make thy face to shine

Upon thy servant:

Shine upon us Lord

And we shall be saved

~~Still Small Voice ~~

Let me hear the still small voice

Speaking softly to my soul

Above the roar of the world

I long to hear the voice of God

His voice bring reassurance

Calm my heart and mind

Let me hear the still small voice

~~ LAMB'S FOOD ~~

Food from the Lamb, is choice
It is indeed a balanced diet
Feed on His Word for strength
To sustain our spiritual life

If we are to grow in Christ
We must eat spiritual food
Serve the Lamb to your family
They will grow up to be strong

~Fruitful in the Land~

Coming from Beersheba

God appeared to Abraham

He showed himself to him

And told him not to fear

For I am with thee

I will bless thee

I will multiply thy seed, Isaac

Isaac was told not to go

Down to the land of Egypt

But go where I tell thee to

I will bless thee

I will perform the oath

As promised to your father

Fear not for I am with thee

Isaac built an altar

Called on the Name of the Lord

There in, Gerar pitched his tent

And the man waxed great,

Isaac's servants dug a well

The family became very great:

For God was with them

Stars

The stars shine brightly
Lighting up our world
Their glory comes fro God
Who made all things

Shine on little stars
glowing so brightly
Shine on for the world to see
The reflection of God's glory

PRIDE

Pride can bring one low
They know not where to go
honor upholds the humble
And they seldom grumble
If one desires to be first
the same shall be last
And servant of all God says
The proud stirs up strife
Pride goes before destruction
A haughty spirit before a fall
Beware of old man pride

Strength in Time of trouble
Cast your cares on God
He will bear them for you
When fear and doubt come
he's our strength
When sickness and pain come
He's our strength
No matter what you need
Rely on Him for strength

The Great Reaper

Upon the white clouds

Sat the Son of Man

Behold and look

A golden crown

A sharp sickle

The harvest is ripened

Time to gather

From the temple comes

A cry of an Angel

A loud voice

To the one on the cloud

Reap, the time has come

Reap, the harvest of earth

He that sat on the cloud

Thrust in the sickle

Reaping and gathering

Clusters of the vine of earth

The angel gathers the vine

Into the great winepress

Our comes blood

Great wrath of God

He judges all

Makes all things new

He does all things well

The time will come soon

A new world will come

A new heaven

A new earth

The Blood

The Blood of the atonement shed for many

Shed by the Lamb Jesus Christ. Do you know Him?

His Blood cleanses from all sins

His Blood washes whiter than snow

The precious cleansing, life-giving Blood of Jesus

All who will may be forgiven, cleansed and healed

With the Blood of Jesus

Blood so freely given

Dear Lord forgive us

Hear us Lord

My God, our people perish

For your love Lord

Our people called

By your Name

Oh Lord hear

Oh Lord forgive

~Why~

Why should He love me so.

We went to Calvary

Gave His life.

Why oh why.

He meets my needs

Fulfills my desire

He frees me from doubt

Assures me of His love

He paid the debt that I could not pay.

Life is a journey
We trod it every day
The way we do not know
But onward we Go

God know the way we take
He leads the way
He knows my every path
So Onward we Go

He knows our ruts and pits
Satan tries to knock us into
God is leading our way
Onward we Go

Onward we go each day
Knowing God is with us
Showing us His way
He leads us onward

Nothing in is life is free except

Being free in Jesus

We find happiness and growth

In His Freedom

Our soul expands in readiness

To go forward, the upward climb.

Happy strong and bold

Going forward, free as a bird

Nothing to slow me down

~Friendship With Jesus~

In times of trouble and disaster

He is the Master

Resting in His warmth and comfort

You will never fall short

Jesus is my friend

To the end

When hunger overtakes me

Bread of Life he'll be

My dearest friend

Jesus

When deep loneliness overtakes me

To him I flee

Reaching for His Almighty Hand

Friendship so grand

Together we enjoy friendship

I'm safe in His grip

I recommend this friend to you

No one else will ever do

A lifetime friend

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you:

And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you and heart of flesh. -Ezekiel 36:26

A heart filled with His love

A mind with His intelligence

A body with enabling health

A song of victory

Of Jesus

Struggles will not enslave me

A new heart I have

A mind of temporary delights

Cravings of pleasure

Trying to escape discomforts

Trying hard to conceal the pain

Muddled, hopeless and worthless

Let Jesus lighten the load

Cleanse your mind

Bring hope and happiness

He is nearby

Be addicted to Jesus

Start anew and feel relief

He will give to you safety,

Someone to love you

And much more

Be addicted to His love

His big church

He wants to envelope you

Be your shield and glory

Here's freedom

Addicted to Jesus

Give Jesus A Try

Are you feeling kindly lonely
Let Him be your one and only

Are you down hearted and sad
Let Him make you glad

Are you longing for a true friend
Let Him, all your worries mend

He loves you so much
He has a very special touch

Why not give Jesus a try.

He is standing nearby

Waiting, on you

To start life anew

Our life should be an overflow of God's power.

An overflow of God's Love

Our life should be a life of continuous prayer

An overflow of love for God

Our life should reach out and touch others

An overflow of God is us

Our lif then will be a blessing to those around us

An overflow of God's Holy Sprit

Abound always in the things of God

We will lack in nothing

~What Prayer Can Do~

On the mighty wings of prayer, much can be accomplished.

Moses prayer and God departed the Red Sea

Daniel prayed and was delivered from the fiery furnace

Elijah prayed and God sent rain to earth

He prayed again and the widow woman received life for her son

He prayed again and the woman had meal for bread

Prayer has always accomplished much and can still do so.

Prayer can move mountains, and do mighty things

Continue in prayer. Do not faint nor grow weary.

Neglect it not, our prayers are heard.

God will regard the prayers of the righteous.

Let us give ourselves to prayer.

~~HOUSE BUILD BY GOD~~

There's a home being build now.
It is a beautiful dwelling place with God.
Jesus calls this home a mansion.

He said He is now preparing it. (John. 14:2-3)

He laid the foundation for it, and made it of living stones

All of them are precious in His sight (Eph. 1:3-4)
He is the chief cornerstone of this home (I Pet. 2:4-6).
God now makes His home in our hearts forever (John. 14:23).

Have you heard about this home? You would really love it.
It is furnished by the Savior, who satisfies every need
Living in this home, with my Lord so grand

We are abundantly satisfied

The home is waiting with treasures untold

We shall drink of the river of pleasures. Ps. 36:8

The one who dwells in God's courts shall be satisfied

With every good thing, I am sure. Psalm 65:4

I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" (Ps. 23:6)

~ Call Upon God ~

He owns everything

Cattle on a thousand hills

He knows everything

Nothing is hid

Will He answer us?

Oh yes He will.

He knows our troubles

All our days

He is the reason

For all things

He calls us to His heart

Feels our pain

We can trust in Him

In all our needs

Our face is before Him

Call upon Him

He will answer you

You shall honor Him

His joy and delight is

To answer prayer

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shall glorify me.

The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof .Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
