The Lord Takes Pleasure In His People

God highly loves His chosen people

Gathered under the steeple

He takes great pride in them

They are His choice gem

By His Blood, He bought them all

They're His both great and small

Renewed them by His Spirit

He will not disinherit

Oh how their countenance does shine

When He bids them, come and dine

God loves His people very much

And gives a special touch

He redeems His people by power

Every day and hour

God takes the greatest pleasure

In His special treasure

The LORD takes pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. For the LORD takes pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Psalm 147: 11 & 149: 4

For the Lord takes pleasure in his people. The saints should be excited to praise the Lord, and to be joyful in their King. It is a wonderful evidence of his grace and the highest honor one can desire. Their security for time and eternity. What a thrill to know that the great God Jehovah takes notice, to love, and to delight in his chosen! Surely there is nothing in our persons, or our actions, which could cause pleasure to the Most High God, except for the fact that He redeemed us by His Blood.

He will beautify the meek with salvation when they humble themselves and see their need of Him. He saves them by sanctifying them, and thus they wear the beauty of holiness, and the beauty of a joy which springs out of full salvation. He makes his people meek, and then makes the meek beautiful Yes God takes pleasure in all his children as Jacob loved all his sons; When God himself beautifies a man, he becomes beautiful indeed and beautiful for ever. "O come, let us sing unto the Lord."
