Old Obadiah Loved his God. His name alone meant

"Worshipper of "Yahweh". Obadiah for the job was sent.

God's ambassador to Declare Edom's fate

Edom, living among the rocks and clefts, your sins so great

Pride in their hearts deceiving them

Soon to be judged by the "Great I am"

Now to the heathen the day of the Lord was here.
As you have done to Judah so will it be done to you, I fear

Your reward will return upon your own head
as you have drunk upon my holy mountain, just as I said

So shall the heathen continually drink there?

The nationality of the city seemed inaccessibility.

But for God it was a possibility

Edom, oh Edom with all your vineyards of grapes

Sin now fully over you drapes

Thoroughly God will judge and make you bare

Obadiah my prophet has you in prayer

O city of Teman, dismayed art thou and at a loss

Worthless city of scum and dross

All the wise counselors and mighty men gone

You are now spent, all your people strewn

Against Israel you have transgressed says Obadiah

All their misfortunes. O Edom you have come to destruction!

The day of the Lord is upon you. He will now judge

Now a weary difficult walk, you will trudge

My people Israel has been judged

Defeated are the enemies of Israel

God's blessings are upon Israel

Sweet Deliverance shall soon come

Oh Edom! You shall be as though you had not been

Edom is doomed; there will be no more sin.

I will bring thee down with a sword

This kingdom now belongs to the Lord

It is He who holds the sword

God's blessings are upon Israel

There will be sweet deliverance and holiness

For Israel is a winner. Israel now posses the land.

All savors come to Mount Zion. The kingdom is now the Lord's

They shall be as though they had never been
Upon Mount Zion will be deliverance. No more sin

Oh Edom! There will be holiness. The kingdom is the Lord's

The house of Joseph will be a flame and Jacob will be a fire.

Exalted as an eagle, they will come out of the mire

Their nest set among the stars, so full of pride

I will bring them down says the Lord. You are now tried
Israel will devour them. Not one will survive
none of the house of Esau will be left alive.

The house of Esau shall be as though they had never been
Upon Mount Zion will be deliverance and holiness. No more sin

The kingdom to the Lord belongs

Edom will surely pay for all the wrongs

The Lord has spoken, Israel will possess the land

No more sin. It will be so grand

The captivity of Jerusalem, will be no more

A grand future is now in store
Saviors will come up on Mt. Zion to judge
there will be no more drudge

My people Israel will possess the land

Sweet Deliverance, is my command

God is going to make the small great

For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel;

In returning and rest shall ye be saved;

in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
