God's Perfect
Number
Today
is 7 7 7 - July Seven, 2007
There
is so much associated with this day. Seems everyone wants to
get married or do their favorite thing today with seven in
mind. God liked the number seven too. Seven is mentioned over
seven hundred times in the Bible.
~The
Number Seven~
And
the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there
came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the
throne, saying, It is done. -Rev. 16:17
Seven
is an interesting number. There is much in the Bible about
seven. It seems number seven could represent completeness
in this verse. There are so many times in the Bible where the
number seven is used. Life operates in cycles of seven. There
are many times seven is used in other occasions.
Even
the musical scale has seven notes. All other pitches are only
variations of these sounds. They are named notes, but God gave
the sound as He did the seven days of the week. Man named
them, but God gave them. Seven is used in creation. Created
is used seven times. God rested on the seventh day. He
appointed seven days for a week.
Very
early in man's first days on earth, Noah took clean beasts
into the ark by seven's. Seven days after Noah entered
the ark it rained. Those seven days of waiting completed God's
time of waiting. The Savior spoke seven times from the Cross.
Seven times in the book of Revelation, blessings are promised
to the seven churches. There are seven seals, trumpets,
personages, vials, dooms and seven new things. It seems to be
the completeness or spiritual perfection. Seven is found 735
times in the Bible.
Entering
the priest-hook work Aaron and his sons were consecrated for
seven days. The mercy seat was sprinkled seven times. A
picture of Christ redemptive work is completed in Heb.
9:12. When Israel took the city of Jericho they marched
seven times around it. Joshua 6:1-16
There are seven-feast day of God. Found in Lev. 23: 1-44.
There are seven branches on the candlestick in the holy place.
Our God is the complete light. Solomon was seven years
building the temple and kept feast seven days. Job had seven sons. His friends sat seven days and nights in
silence. Afterward they were required to offer a burnt
offering of seven bullocks and seven rams.
Naaman the King had to dip and wash seven times in Jordan
River. Jesus said to forgive seventy times seven times. Just
keep on forgiving seemed to be what Christ had in mind.
In
Daniel, the furnace was heated seven times hotter for the
Hebrew boys. Seven kinds of officials were called in to the
King. The Hebrew boys were brought safely out. Someday God
will also bring us safely out of bondage. We too will have
complete deliverance.
