Professional Background

I began my professional career in 1973 as an architectural designer in Dallas, Texas and was one of the revolutionary users of a computer system for the design of wood trusses.  By age 25, I had my own design shop with several contract associates.

In 1977, I branched into providing design and construction management services for several condominium and apartment developers and became involved in the rescue of several failed developments for mortgage companies and savings and loans.

My association with these bankers lead to my eventual specializing in the design and construction management for the building of 21 banks and savings and loans in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.

In 1982, I changed gears by co-founding a weekly business newspaper based in Irving, Texas.  The fledgling publication demanded a need for, the then new concept of, micro-computers.  I answered the call and my career in developing computer solutions, innocently, began.

By 1983, I had designed and built the first weekly newspaper editorial network directly linked to an electronic typesetter known to exist in Texas.

Building upon this success, I proceeded to develop an SQL-based database system that eventually fulfilled all of the accounting, billing, payroll, and personnel record management requirements of the company.

I quickly realized that other people could benefit from my capabilities and began my career as a database design and development contract professional.
