Curriculum

 

 

Ballet & Tap Combination Class

Basic ballet & tap technique using an imaginary & creative style of teaching to encourage the children to stretch & strengthen their bodies.  This develops their power of concentration, teaches them to take direction & cooperate with a group.  It also exposes students to all types of music. 

 

Jazz

Basic limbering & body building exercises to create a stronger dancer with concentration on technique & style.  Basic jazz is learned along with turns, leaps & jazz combinations. 

 

Pre-Pointe & Pointe

Technique class for the serious dancer to help strengthen the body to dance Sur La Pointe.  Students must be recommended for this class.  Black leotard & pink tights must be worn to all Pointe classes. 

 

Pom Pon

dance & pom coordination movements developing keen mentality & agility.  formations, routines & parade work are taught. 

 

acrobatics

exercises given to create limberness, balance, strength & coordination as needed to achieve all tumbling moves, taught from basic to advanced aerial work.  good cheerleader training. 

 

intermediate, pre-advanced, & advanced

students recommended for these classes are encouraged to attend at least two dance classes per week.  emphasis is placed on working to attain stronger technique in dance.

 

hip hop

the newest version of jazz dance, it is a fun class for everyone! 

 

dance team

competition class to work & perfect routines for various competitions.  the philosophy is to promote good sportsmanship, work together as a group & perfect skills.  any student with at least 1 year of dance training can participate in dance team.
