Some people call me a dreamer. I believe that dreams make a path to reality. The only question is which dream I should believe in The one, which made me from a schoolboy who, was sick year round, to an athlete through the orienteering sport? Maybe it is the dream that carried me around one of the world's best military and engineering schools like the U.S. Naval Academy or Mikkeli Institute of Technology, and let me meet my best friends? It is probably impossible to choose because all this combined allowed me to experience great adventures, various challenges, and push my own emotional and physical limits. But that is in the past, and I cannot sit still without new trials. While it appears that my future has at least a career of a Naval Officer and a lengthy path of an engineering graduate student waiting for me, I am passionate about the new quest of mine, - adventure racing.

Up until 2002 I always did only one sport - orienteering. By then it has been almost fifteen years since I was introduced to a map and compass. In the past I always represented the Lithuanian national team in many national and international races. However, coming to the U.S. in summer 1997 significantly changed my experiences with sports by adding more versatile sports such as long distance running, road and mountain biking, volleyball, swimming, climbing and others. Nevertheless, I stayed faithful to my life-sport my being a member and even coaching US Naval Academy orienteering team. Soon after graduation from the USNA, I met the adventure racing team "American Legion" which introduced me to the incredible sport of the AR. Since then I raced with more than a dozen teams and in a span of just about a year I gained invaluable weekend and expedition style races experience. With this under my belt and a great desire to do more and excel I am ready to face the next season year 2004!
