ART Ageless Reportory Theatre

THIS IS THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR'S CORNER PAGE OF THE RENO, NEVADA AGELESS REPERTORY THEATRE (ART)

Many, many times I have been able to write about the continuing successes of Ageless Repertory Theatre and how we have been able to provide quality productions for the enjoyment of our audiences. Every once in while we need to acknowledge the wonderful actors that comprise ART because they are so dedicated and so willing to participate in every way possible. One of our fine actors, Julie Auer moved to Florida about 2 1/2 years ago and we missed her greatly because she was truly one of our finest character actors. She was a costume designer as well and always dressed the part in our plays. As Opal Kronkie in “Everybody Loves Opal” she portrayed the seemingly penniless Opal with much distinction. Everybody loved Julie on stage and off.

About a year ago, Julie was diagnosed with cancer and our concerns went out to her and her family including John, her husband, who was a minister and an actor, too. John was in several of our plays, as well.

Julie went through all of the steps to defeat the dreaded cancer but ultimately succumbed on New Years Day, 2012. While we were unable to be with her in Florida during her illness, nonetheless she was a part of our troupe in spirit and love. We miss her sweet countenance and her loving spirit. Thank you Julie for being in our lives onstage and off. You are forever in our hearts.

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same. . . . Flavia Weedn
