The History of Our Site

What follows is the summary of changes to this site, so that one can examine how it grew from an idea, to development, to publication on the web.

January 7th, 2007
- Updated Main, Calendar, Division History & Site History pages.
- Updated MA AOH page to reflect new Presidents & correct website links
- Updated AOH Of America page to reflect new officers. States' information will be updated soon.
- Removed dead links from the Irish News page.

- Updated the Main page for information regarding our 2004 Irish Night Dinner Dance in conjuction with the 150th Anniversary of the IC Parish.

- Listed the new Division Officers for 2004 & 2005 in the Officers page.
- Corrections/Updates to our pages for MA AOH Divisions, and both our Division 16 & National AOH History pages.
- Updated the Membership form information.
- As the Guestbook & Counter services we were using became paid services, I have removed those items from all of our pages.

- The Guestbook has been cleaned up & inappropriate entries deleted.
- Ansersontown/Belfast News website is gone from the News Page. Dead link.
- Irish Edition is gone from the News Page, as it has become a porn site.
- The Calendar page is now updated with the 2001 & 2002 schedules!
- MA & USA AOH pages have been overhauled to include more divisions & their webpages!
- Officers page, Main & Site History pages updated as well.

March 31st, 2001
- The site moves from Mindspring to Charter.

August 29th, 2000
- Updated the Calender & Main Page.

August 21st, 2000
- Updated the Calender.
- The National AOH and Mass Board AOH sites & officer lists are now updated.

May 14th, 2000
- The Guest Speakers section now features our 1st speaker!! Brother Daniel Herlihy, of Division 36 (Worcester, MA) presents his speach on "The Rising Of Easter Monday, 1916".
- Updated the Calender.
- All of our webpages updated to correct for a problem with using the email button and certain browsers (Thanks to James J. Martin, past Div. 16 president, for pointing that out to me.)
- Counters now seem to be running faster.
- The National AOH and Mass Board AOH sites have now updated their links to our site.

March 23rd, 2000
- Website was down/broken due to a change in the manner in which Mindspring managed their URL/Domain services. If you have any bookmarks to this or any of our other pages, I would encourage you to delete your old links and create new bookmarks/favourite links. Thank you for your patience.
- Updated the Calender.
- All of our webpages updated to correct for the www/home URL issue with Mindspring.
- Counters and guestbook fixed to include the correct information.
- Letters have been sent to the National AOH and Mass Board AOH sites to update their information.
- The webmaster's head is soar from pulling his hair out over this rediculous mess.

March 9th, 2000
- Been busy & starting a new job, so updates have been slow... but are now planned to be more frequent.
- Updated the Calender, Officers, Site History & Main Pages.
- Added an appeal for information on our Division 16 History page.
- Corrected small errors with the Guest Speakers page & spelling on the MA AOH page.

January 20th, 2000
- Changed the manner in which the "AOH of America" and "AOH of Massachusetts" buttons function. Instead of simply bringing you to the National AOH or Mass Board sites, they now bring you to newly created local pages, which will then link to the National and Mass Board sites and information.
- Renamed the "AOH National Site" button to "AOH Of America"
- Corrected small error on the Officers Page.

January 11th-13th, 2000

December 26th, 1999
- Site History has been added so that the main page of our site will contain only the latest update. The Site History page will also contain the past updates and site revision history
- Once again, our site has been reviewed, and this time granted the BRILLIANeT Award for web excellence. This is rarely given out, so we should be quite proud with our site.

December 20th, 1999
- Our site was selected as a Critical Mass award winner by the Critical Mass Information Resource Guide. It is also one of their "Sites Of The Day."

December 16th, 1999
- Major update of the Irish News page.
- Cosmetic changes to the Catholic & Division 16 Photo Pages.
- National & Massachusetts AOH sites now open in new windows, as do most external links.
- The Calendar and Officers pages have been updated.
- Future plans will include a "Site History/Update" page & other improvements.

December 12th, 1999
- Our site is now linked on the National and Massachusetts AOH sites.

December 8th, 1999
- The site is now fully operational! Improvements will be added as time allows.

December 6th, 1999
- Additional pages added, along with hit counters & the guestbook.

December 5th, 1999
- Major revision to the look & structure of the site
- The addition of a Catholic Links page is made.

June 12th to December 4th,1999
- The basic site is designed, created & placed online.
- Letters are sent to the National & Massachusetts AOH sites.
- Continued development largely offline, with a few updates.

May 16th, 1999
- The suggestion is made to have a website for Division 16 of Marlborough, Massachusetts.
- The suggestee is asked to take on the task of creating the website.
