HOBO'S SONG Copyright Alador I've been drifting along these railroad tracks Since the dawning days of time From the hot scorched earth I arose at birth Like a ghost on the winds of time
In the mist I've ridden specter trains Been rooms with the windows barred I've seen men bend in an evil wind That made their faces grim and hard Oh Mother Earth, Father Time Call me home This your son, the driftin' one Feeling so alone I've seen the daylight ebb and flow Back into eternal night I've seen vanity and fought for my sanity And prayed for the morning light So as I stand beside this frozen mound I write a eulogy in the snow For beneath this sod lies a child of god A friend and an old hobo Oh Mother Earth, Father Time Call me home This your son, the driftin' one Feeling so alone
