Stated Communication of Desert Council #46.  Pullman Masonic Center, Pullman, WA. March 4, 2006, at 12:30 PM.

 

The communication was opened by ISM Lewis Peck with the four elected officers present and the offices of  SD pro-temed by Harold Rothgeb, Junior Deacon by Fred Lange, and Chaplain by Carl Engle.

 

All introductions of distinguished members had been made earlier at Kamiakin York Rite College.

 

Minutes of the December Annual Communication were approved as published and mailed.

 

 

Bills presented were $7.00 for copy and postage and rent for $30.00, leaving a balance of $540.27 in checking.

Orders outstanding are 2 complete rituals at $36.00 @and 6 lapel pins at $6.00 @.

 

Sickness and distress: John Hardin is home recovering from hip surgery and a heart attack while in the hospital. Bill Elkins is not doing well and has a series of medical problems.

 

Communications: A notice from the Grand Council, AMD announcing the election and installation of MW William R. Miller of Washington State as the Grand Installed Sovereign Master.

 

Induction: Brothers Mark A. Scott and Eugene R. Cook were elected and inducted into our ranks and appointed Chaplain and Sentinel.

 

Old business: Dues for 2006 are due.

 

New business: M/S/P to leave the third assembly of the year to the discretion of the Sovereign Master as to time and place possibly outside of the lodge room and not in conjunction with other bodies.

 

It was discussed that we have several members who may be moved by their request to the Grand Master’s Council because of age, health or location. Members of Emeritus Status are still responsible for attendance and dues. The Secretary was directed to contact the several Brothers in this category.

 

Papers: Brother J. Robert Yingling read a paper from a short talk bulletin from the Masonic Service Bureau entitled “The Eye of the Pyramid” and Brother Mark A. Scott read and original interpretation of the “Closing Charge (from Grand Lodge) in Laymen’s Terms”. Both papers were well received.

 

 

Pin Check: all present were properly clothed.

 

No further business coming before the Council, SM Peck closed in due form.
