237. William Weir8 Adcock (Huldah7 Breazeale, Drury Buchman6, Drury Woods5 Breazell, Drury4 Brazeal, Henry3, Henry2 Brazeel, Henry1) reference F36 (F21-1 was born in Greene Co, AL June 30, 1831. William died April 5, 1894. His body was interred at Bethel Church Cemetery in Leake Co, MS.
He married Sophronia Clementine Fielder. Sophronia was born 1828 in Alabama. Sophronia died April 15, 1910. Her body was interred at Bethel Church Cemetery in Leake Co, MS. William W. Adcock, the oldest son of Sam and Hulda, was born June 30, 1831, in Greene County, Alabama. When a state of war was declared between the United States and the Confederate States, William enlisted in Neshoba County and went into the Army. He served in Company G, 40th Mississippi Infantry, Confederate States Army. This unit was known as the "Dixie Rangers" and was commanded by Captain M. S. Latimer. It was organized on April 27, 1862. William Adcock's enlistement date was May 9, 1862. He was taken prisoner by the United States Army in the fall of 1862 at the Battles of Iuka/Corinth, and was later paroled. He was discharged from the Confederate Army in May of 1865. In July of 1850, in Kemper County, Mississippi, William Adcock married Sophrona Clementine Fielder, who was born in Green County, Alabama, on October 30, 1826. At the time of their marriage, he was 19 and she was 23. He died April 5, 1894, and Sophrona died April 15, 1910, and both are buried at Bethal Church in Leake County, Mississippi. William and "Fronie" Fielder Adcock reared six sons and two daughters: William A. (Ab), James (Jimmy), Joseph, Frank, Ann Eliza, Sophrona, Thomas Tennson (Tenny), and Simeon. William (Ab) married Sara Ann Breazeale and moved to Jones County. Jimmy married Sarah Duett the first time and a Breazeale the second time and lived in Winston County. Joe married Sarah Ann Kea the first time and a Scrivner the second time and resided in Neshoba County. Frank married Sarah Ardella Scrivner and they lived in Attala County. Anna Eliza married William Franklin Pope and lived in Neshoba County. Sophrona married Enoch Pope and also lived in Neshoba County. (The Popes were brothers). Simeon married Mattie Lou Todd and resided in Winston County.
