William died February 20, 1934. His body was interred at Bethel Church Cemetery in Covington Co, MS.

He married three times. He married Laura Patton. He married Ida Wilson. He married Henrietta S. Jernigan December 14, 1869. Henrietta was born 1851. Henrietta was the daughter of Robert Journagan. Henrietta died December 6, 1888. Her body was interred at Bethel Church Cemetery in Covington Co, MS. Known as "Still Will" or "Fiddler Bill".
