| Procedures for Mural Creation |
• Clients propose an idea for a mural with a written description of desired content, size, color scheme, and possibly pictures. • Consultation takes place in the location where the mural will be painted. A $25 design fee is required at this time to begin preliminary designs. • Artist then creates preliminary designs and color schemes for a second consultation. Design is discussed and changes are made, if necessary. • Artist creates an estimated budget of materials and hours. Included within these hours are consultation time, design time, wall preparation time, and drawing and painting time. A deposit of 50% of total cost is required to begin work. Due to fluid nature of mural painting, budgets may need adjusting as work progresses. A price "cap" is decided before work begins in order to protect the client. • Work begins and is either scheduled "marathon style"- beginning and working an entire weekend or weeks until completion, or "appointment style"- painting appointments are scheduled for a period of time until completion. • Clients who wish to take part in wall preparation or painting may do so with possible decreases in cost.

• Mural painting students may apply to work a project for an hourly wage of $5. A $25 instruction fee will be subtracted from the final payment. Wages will be paid at the completion of the project. Clients may also be apprentices. If clients do not wish for students to work on their project, they must inform the artist at the begin date. |
| Pricing | • The estimated budget is calculated from materials estimates and hourly wage
estimates of $20/hour. A final "hard" budget of actual hours and actual materials receipts is given at the completion of the mural.
• 50% of the estimated budget is required up front.
• Total of the hard budget (minus deposit) is due upon completion.
