Swimming in the old days in the Albermarle Sound! Swimming in the new catfish pond!
When Bill and I started raising alpacas years ago - we had a great plan, but were in a poor location. Living on the waterfront is great, as long as you can pack up whenever a hurricane heads your way...which happened more often than I cared to remember. So, we stopped complaining and we moved!

As of September 2004, we've been living...and loving life just south of Nashville. With different priorities, we purchased our ranch based on the pastures. It's taken some time to build the barn and put up the fencing. Man - it was exhausting watching the men-folk work!

Anyway, glad ya'll stopped by and hope you enjoy your visit.

Who:  Take one former Marine from Louisiana (Bill), and one Air Force retiree from New York (me, Lisa); throw in a few Great Pyrenees livestock guard dogs, an alert-llama, a flock of bantam chickens; mix in a touch of goofyness, then fold in a business plan that had been simmering for well over 10 years; and you've got...

Alpaca Atlantic of Tennessee!
The brand new 'Paca Mansion!

Girls enjoying the day! What:  Our goals are simple: raise alpacas anyone would be proud to own; help customers any way we can; and do our best to promote the North American alpaca industry.

The sales aspect of this business is presenting the biggest challenge. Bill wants to keep them all! I can't blame him. These animals are enchanting. They steal your heart, lower your blood pressure and make hanging around seem like a vacation. These are animals that dance to their own beat - and if you haven't seen alpacas do the "Prong Dance" at dusk, you've got a treat coming!

How:  Alpaca Atlantic is unique. Bill and I are hands-on in every aspect of this business. We vaccinate, shear, train, breed, and process our fiber into finished goods. You probably won't find Bill behind the spinning wheel or camera lens, but you won't find me putting up fencing or a new barn!

Quick Answers:  Huacayas only. About 80. The animals we sell are ours, we don't broker. And no -- you don't eat them!

Smoochable crias!

You can always count on Franklin Mint to stick his cute little nose into everything! About Us:  If you haven't heard of Alpaca Atlantic, you're not the first. We don't show our animals (although we have many that are show quality), we don't run ads, heck - we don't even have a sign out front. We're about as low-key a breeder as you'll find. Our reputation is our calling card and our satisfied customers provide marketing that money can't buy.

Hope you enjoy your stay and....

"Ya'll come back now, ya'heah!"
