Although the western part of the Veil Nebula is fainter than the eastern portion, the proximity of NGC 6960 to the fourth-magnitude star 52 Cygni makes it easier to find. NGC 6960 is commonly known as the Witch's Broom Nebula. To left are NGC 6974 and 6979, which form Pickering's Triangular Wisp.

Equipment: Vixen 102-ED/STL-11000M/Astrodon LRGB filters/Paramount ME
F-ratio: f/6.5
Exposures: LRGB: L 10 x 6 minutes: R 10 x 6 minutes: G 10 x 6 minutes: B 10 x 6 minutes: RGB binned 2x2
Date: August 12, 2007

Technical Notes:
Individual exposures were obtained using CCDAutoPilot2 and then sigma combined. The RGB image was created in Registar 1.0. A Gaussian Blur of 1 pixel was applied to the RGB image. A copy of the RGB image was combined with the original using Soft Light to enhance color. Field curvature is present at the corners of the frame.
