SURVIVING EQUIPMENT OF THE
PACIFIC ELECTRIC RAILWAY

The Pacific Electric Railway, or PE, was an interurban and urban trolley system.  It carried millions of passengers, but was also an important freight carrier.  It ran electric and steam locomotives, and eventually diesel switchers.  From downtown Los Angeles it operated routes north into the San Fernando Valley; east to Pasadena, San Bernardino, and Riverside; south to Santa Ana, Newport Beach, Long Beach, and San Pedro; and west to Torrance, Redondo Beach, Venice, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood.

Special thanks to Bob Allessi for his help in locating many of the structures.

NOTE: if you know of any surviving equipment which is not listed, please notify the host.
