I've always been a bit of a gamer. And always a kid at heart. I didn't necessarily spend a lot of time
in the arcades as a kid, but when I did I couldn't get enough.
Back in December of 2003, a friend and I were discussing favorite arcade games, and if we had the money
to buy one, which would it be. My all-time favorite was Gauntlet, as it brings back several good memories
of playing it with my brother at the local supermarket. But I doubted I would ever be able to afford
an original. His was NBA Jam (and it just so happens that he bought one in good condition off of Ebay).
Well, in our search for classic upright arcade machines, we ran across several sites of people who had
created their own custom arcade cabinet running a MAME emulator. Aha! What an awesome idea. The both of us
were hooked, and after reading everything we could find at
www.arcadecontrols.com (an awesome centralized resource for custom arcade cabinets), we both declared
we were going to start ones of our own.
As far as the dragon theme goes...I've always been a bit of a sci-fi/fantasy fan. My wife and I even have a
medieval/castle theme in our living room. So, hopefully this cabinet won't stand out too bad.
The cabinet is now complete! (Even though this website isn't) There should still be plenty of pics and info
on here, and I'll slowly get around to completing the rest of the pages.
