General Notes (Husband)

Notes say: Conrad James Imel and Mary Francis, his wife, left Wayne County Indiana via ox team for Oregon. They arrived 1863. Later 5 children were born: James A. Imel, Boring Oregon; Solomon Imel, Harrison Imel, Willis Imel and Mary Imel. Henrietta came across plains with parents. Henrietta July 15, 1852 died feb. 5 1936. James A. Imel son of Conrad married Arabella Jones, a daughter of James and Elizabeth Jones. Mrs. Jones maiden name was Walker. Arabella was daughter of John H,. Jones. He was son of Francis H. Jones from France. James A. Imel & Arabella had 3 children: John, who died of blood poisoning James Sylvester Imel born April 16, 1874 died June 7 1944 (father of Herbert Haywood Imel). Anna married Jesse Mayfield; died of abscessed lungs at the age of 26 years, 2 mo and 28 days. Anna (Amma) born May 28, 1876,. died Mar 28 1902. James Sylvester Imel married Christina Baldrish April 5, 1899 at Oregon City Oregon. Christina was born 1882. She was born in Odessa Russia; died 1906 or 1907.

Jones/Walker marriage: Elizabeth Walker (later known as Aunt Betsy) born in Canada Jan 9 1817. Moved to Iowa in 1843. In 1845 she married J. N. Jones. They traveled via ox team to Oregon arriving in 1852. J. H. Jones died July 4, 1904.


General Notes (Wife)

Death Notice in the Oregon City Courier, Oregon City, OPregon Reel 2, June 20, 1918 Mary Frances Imel, widow of the late Conrad J. Imel, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Henrici at Beavercreek Tuesday afternoon, age 78. The funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Clackamas Church with Rev. W. T. McMilliken of this city officiating. Enterment was in the Clackamas Cemetery. Mrs. Imel was a native of Indiana. Born Jefferson County in 1839. Since 1870 she hasmade Clackamas County her home. Her husband was a veteran of the Civil War who died a number of years ago. She is survived by 5 of her 7 children who were James Alfred of Boring, Soloman Harrison and Willis, all of Clackamas and Mrs. Mary Henrici of Beavercreek, Oregon.
