In notes from Herbert and Myrtle Imel this name was listed as being buried in Clackamas Cemetery, Clackamas County, Oregon, with the notation that "he never arrived". Later data says James R. Imel was son of Peter Imel and Susan Kirkwood of Virginia and they are buried in Lower Highland Cemetery., near Oregon City, Oregon.
Peter Imel, son of Solomon Imel, was a drummer
boy at the age of 12; which he was conscripted
as a Hessian Soldier to fight against Americans
in the American Revolution; He became a turncoat.
Buried in Indiania.
-turncoat seems such a harsh term...however.......Lets see ...some prince in germany had these brothers trained to fight. best in europe. sold off to the british crown. and they went awol the moment they got here?

well if she is in highland then she didn't die in 1820.
there is a susanna kirkwood listed in Family Search that died then.
also lists as died : Before 1849 Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana
After reviewing the records on line of those who are buried at Highland Fellows Cemetery, Clackamas County, Oregon
I don't see her anywhere....................... INDIANA is starting to look perty good.
