Francis Marion Jones was born in France and came to Detroit Michigan and became the Pioneer Birch manufacturer.

This information said he married Nancy Bedford of Scotch-Danish descent. He became a farmer in Jackson County, Idaho where 8 of his12 children were born. He died of blood poisoning from a rupture. It also says he married Anna Tucker in 1820.

According to this information there is no way of telling which wife was the mother of the 12 children. However, a news article regarding a Jones and Imel reunion June 8, 1930 at the old Jones Mill out of Oregon City Oregon said the following: "Descendants of Francis and Anna Jones gathered at the old Jacob Jones Mill on the Abernathy Creek Sunday fJune 8, 1930 and enjoyed their first reunion, which they hope to make an annual event to take place at the old lumber mill the 1nd Sundayin June." "Mr. and Mrs. Francis Jones and their family Thomas, John, William, Jacob, Frank, George, James, Nancy, Elizabeth, Orpha, and Samantha crossed the plains from Iowa to Highland Country a few miles from Oregon City by Ox Team in 1853.Not one of the original party remains."

Other note gave her first name as Amy. It also said she died of dropsy.
