General Notes (Wife)

In August 1994 Margaret wrote:

My husband is a crop duster but we are in the process of trying to get rid of our business and retire. He has his mother's place near Condon, and our plan is to go back there. I will be glad to be closer to mymother; though she is hale and hearty and able to take care of herself, she is 82 and its a long ways to medical attention from there. She still drives around town, but doesn't drive away from home anymore. Our son Dale lives at Sandy Oregonand works for Boeing at Troutdale. His two little girls we don't get to see too often, so don't really know them very well. The same as for our daughter janet's children. Janet was in a car accident when she was 16 and is paralized from thewaist down, and in a wheel chair. She is married and had the two boys. When she told me they were thinking of having another my reaction was "Heavens Janet, Stephen is twelve years old, you've just about go them raised"! She had always wanteda big family and was so glad when she got pregnant and she was bore a healthy little girl to round out their family. Jennifer is a sweety, but with so many big people around her, she has lots of attention. My mom calls it Well loved, not spoiled. Janet and her family live in Springfield, Oregon. Daughter LeAnn lives in Reno. Her husband is an Electrical Design engineer, and adopted her two children from her former marriage. LeAnn says she has come full circle with the name fromGreat great grandmother Fanny Cox to herself. Our son Glen was killed in one of those dumb accidents that happen. He was living in Portland and working as a cartographer for the BLM. He had gone out on a date, and when he got home to the mens residence hotel where he lived, had locked himself out of his room, couldn't find the night clerk so went up the fire escape and fell to his death.
