Polar Bearing '98
It wasn't cold enough!
As you may or may not know, the Sheboygan Polar Bear Club again took their dip into the chilling depths of Lake Michigan on January 1st at 1:00pm.  The water temperature at that time was 34°F and the wind chill was 11°F.  It was pretty cold.   As our 2nd annual event, my friend Jason and I took our turn bathing in the lake.   With adrenaline pumping through our bodies, we chanted, "It's not cold enough!" as we went into the lake.  As we plunged through the line of people we hit the slush which inevitably enveloped many of the heavy-set people, but as for me and my friend we ran out the furthest and soon dove into the bliss of the cold Lake Michigan.   As we came up from being underwater we thought for a second of the tingling cold as we tried to move our freeze shrunk bodies towards the shore.  We thought why we did this once again, but knowing that traditions are strong in the German heritage and well sorta proving a ground for manliness. All together its a great time just getting pumped up for the event. You have a total rush after you have done it and feel like you can accomplish anything and that's what we especially like about POLAR BEARING!!!  Below are some pictures of our chilling adventure.
