With the stroke of a pen, former school principal Kathryn C. "KayCee" Shane became the owner of Glen Rose Title on November 14, 2003.
This exciting change marks a new beginning for our company. KayCee is a practicing attorney, and is partner at Moore & Shane, LLP, of Acton, Texas. She graduated from Texas Wesleyan School of Law Magna Cum Laude in 2000 after a twenty-year career in education. KayCee lives in nearby Pecan Plantation with her husband of 25 years, airline captain Andy Shane.
Her primary focus is on serving clients with precision and speed. "With our wonderful staff, we can serve Somervell and nearby counties with 100 percent reliability," said Shane.
Shane's interests include ponding, cycling, traveling, and gardening. She is passionate about caring for her twenty year old Mercedes roadster, which she uses whenever the weather allows. She is a certified scuba diver and has flown small airplanes solo. An ardent reader, she devours mysteries as frequently as one daily, when her busy schedule permits. "You can never know too many ways to murder your husband," she quips.
Born in Georgetown, a historical district of Washington, D.C., she was raised in suburban Rockville, Maryland, just fifteen miles from the tan House. Determined to pursue a teaching career, she was accepted to Frostburg State College, now part of the University of Maryland, in 1976. There, she met Andy, two months into her freshman year. The two finished school together, and he briefly continued as a graduate student before accepting a commission with the Air Force. KayCee performed her stint as a student teacher while Andy began pilot training in Del Rio; then, after graduation, they moved to Maine, where she taught at the base elementary school. In 1984, the couple returned to Texas, and KayCee taught and later served in administration for the Fort Worth and Granbury school districts. In 1997, she was accepted to Texas Wesleyan, where she was named to Law Review and served on moot court. She graduated with honors in 2000 and passed the Texas Bar immediately thereafter. During the same time, she began working for Andrea Moore, an Acton attorney, and was named as partner a year later. KayCee and Andrea continue their practice in Acton, specializing in wills and probate.
