The Love We Share

Samantha and Selenia were playing with Brittany, Moira, and Daire under Susan and Corwin's watchful eyes so the two young loves slipped off together. Rohan walked with Keera along the valley floor. The walls towered over them seeming to protect them from the world outside giving them total privacy. The beauty of the meadow they walked through was nothing compared to that found in their hearts as they walked hand in hand thinking of the future.

Keera stopped and looked around taking a deep breath, "It is so beautiful here. I would love to use it in a painting." Rohan watched her with a smile, "Just so long as there is always a path for us to walk on." Keera smiled at his words, "Of course we have to have a place for our walks." Rohan squeezed her hand gently, "Aye, after all if that path you took that one night had not led you to me I would not have found my truest love in you." "I do love you Rohan. I still do not know what you see in me. You could have anyone you choose.", she looked down. Rohan stepped closer to her, "I did get who I chose. I can think of no one I would rather be with, now or ever." Keera blushed at this, "You flatter me Rohan." "I only speak my heart my love.", Rohan lifted her chin and gazed into her eyes then kissed her softly.

Corwin smiled as the kids laughed and played looking to Susan, "It is nice they get along so well." Susan nodded, "It is nice to see children so happy." Corwin grinned at her, "Aye it is." She looked at him curiously, "We are not talking about the little ones are we?" Corwin shook his head, "I mean the two that have wandered off together. They do seem so in love. Tis nice to see." Susan smiled, "I hope Keera hangs on to him. I only want her to be happy. She has carried so much anger for so long. Do you think they will marry someday?" Corwin laughed, "You did not see it then?" "See what? What did I miss?", she looked at him not sure what he was talking about. "She had a diamond on her hand. I will give you one guess who gave it to her.", he smiled. Susan smiled brightly, "You mean an engagement ring! I missed it. Why did you not tell me sooner?" He puts his arms around her, "Rohan said they had something to tell us and I assume that is the something. I do not want to rush them, we can just act surprised when they do tell us." Susan hugged him and looked back to the kids playing.

They all sat talking after a large dinner. Most of the talk seemed oriented toward the children then Corwin looked to Rohan, "So what is it you wanted to tell Susan and myself? It seemed urgent." Rohan took and deep breath and looked to Keera, "Well you both know that Keera and I have been spending a lot of time together. And she means the world to me....." Susan was literally glowing by now waiting for Rohan to tell them. "I.... I asked Keera to be my wife.", he raised Keera's hand to show the ring, "And she accepted" Susan smiled broadly, "Rohan, Keera I am so happy for you both. I hoped this would happen and I can think of no one I would rather see Keera with." Well done Rohan. Keera, my daughter, you both of course have our blessing of course. We wish you all the happiness that you deserve."

Rohan looked to them then to Keera, "She has already brought me more happiness then I had thought to ever feel. " Keera smiled and squeezed his hand. Corwin grinned at the two, "so when is the date?"
