Tears Shed
She had been able to keep it together until she stepped outside. The tears fell as Nightstorm joined her on her walk to Amber to check on the children. Her fingers once again brushing over Night's fur," What if it's my fault, Storm? Any time I've been able to be happy something always happens." She looked down to the flask within her hand before looking to Night like maybe he had all the answers to her questions.
She put the flask within a pocket in her cloak once she reached Amber. Her hands came up to wipe the tears away and she took a few calming breaths before stepping into his home to check on his children. It seemed like the only thing natural to do for her now was to watch over them. She made the rounds checking on the three children and peeking in on Rohan to let him know she was there, before turning to head to the guest room.
On her way to the guest room she almost stumbled in her steps as she saw the figure again, it looked so much like Corwin. She moved toward it much like before, but as before it faded before she ever reached it.
Her eyes filled with tears as she whispered, "Corwin… what are you trying to tell me? What do you want me to do?" She held her tears until she reached the guest room, closing the door behind her. Within steps she was upon the bed curling up on it letting the tears fall. She hadn't cried yet so she let herself go, crying herself into a much needed sleep.
