Jane Austen Regency Ball
Saturday, February 18, 7 p.m. in the Large Auditorium at the Homewood Library.

No prior ballroom experience is necessary and novices are welcome. There will also be a practice session from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for those who wish to learn some of the dances prior to the Ball. Attendance of the practice session is not a requisite to attend and/or dance at the Ball. We will have a "caller", who will provide instructions for the dances as we go, and refreshments will be severed. Period costumes are encouraged, but not required. The cost is $15.00 per person (the price includes practice session). This event is for ages 12 and older. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and will be available beginning Monday, January 9 through Saturday, February 11. Space is limited. The Jane Austen Society of North America - Alabama Region (AustenAL) is a wonderful group of enthusiastic Janeites from around the state. AustenAL meets about five times a year, usually in and around Birmingham, but also in Tuscaloosa and other areas as the members determine. The programs are determined by (and often presented by) the members. There are currently about 40 members.

Dues for the national organization should be sent directly to JASNA.  Current members should receive a renewal notice from JASNA.  Dues for the Alabama Region may be paid at any meeting. Regional dues are $25 per year for an individual or $30 for a couple.
