Barrel of Music Productions present concerts of the finest folk and acoustic music in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The presentations vary widely from traditional American to pop-contemporary to world and ethnic. Artists from all over the United States, Canada (French and English), Spain, Ireland, Italy, Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, France and Portugal have shared their music, dance and artistry with our audiences since 1986.
We hope to provide our audience with an evening of entertainment that will keep you smiling until the next concert comes around. Come dance in the aisles, tap your feet, clap your hands. We bring wonderful musicians, dancers, and singers to New Bedford... many for the first time in the area, many for the first time in the country. Come join us...
We program two venues in New Bedford:
Our thirteenth season of Music through Time monthly concerts, held in the theater of the New Bedford Whaling Museum, begins in March 2008. The concerts for the 2008 are booked and information about the performers can be seen at the Music through Time concerts page.
And, for the thirteenth year, Barrel of Music Productions are the Artistic Directors and Programmers of the Greater New Bedford Summerfest, an international folk music and arts festival. The festival is generally held on the first full weekend in July. The dates for 2008 are July 4-6.
