The Summerfest is located in the New Bedford Historical Whaling National Park. There are a number of free parking lots in New Bedford as well as on-street parking around the National Park. The two city owned garages, free for festival ticket holders, are The Elm Street Garage that can be reached by taking a right at the first set of lights on Rte 18 and the  Zeiterion Theater garage located on Acushnet Ave, two blocks south of the festival.  There are private lots in and around the area which are free as well as on-street metered parking that is free over the Summerfest weekend. There is also a very large parking lot, the Whale Tooth lot,  seen from Rte 18 , with a nominal daily fee, and indicated for the High Speed Ferry Service parking. Follow the signs for parking off Rte 18.  A shuttle bus will drop off customers at the bottom of Union Street, one block from the festival.
