Airplane Wing Spar Optimizer
Wing Spar Optimizer (tm)
The program is ideal for sizing a minimum weight cantilevered wing spar to
the required wing loading. It designs either rectangular or I-beam type
spars that may taper in width from wing root to wing tip to minimize
weight. The program computes the span loading distribution from aircraft
weight and required g-loading. Any uniform material may be used.
Program input is interactive with helpful online definitions for each
input. The input calls for starting dimensions and design constraints or
requirements. Self documenting, printable output files are generated for
all cases. These are text files that may be further edited and documented
to save all data for subsequent runs. The program is designed for both the
nonprofessional and professional user. Registered users receive update
notification and special pricing.
