Bourbon & Pain

First of all, I must say that I was truly amazed and saddened by the events in New Orleans and surrounding areas. I truly feel sorry for all of these people whom have their lives destroyed by a catastrophic event.

So many individuals are trying to do so many things to help out the stranded. One thing that i was miffed at was a women calling in on the tv to say where are all of the national guard members... oh you forgot... bush sent them over seas to get the hell shot out of them. They are doing the best they can do with the resources they have. It is understandable the amount of pain these people are going through.. but just take it one day at a time.

I saw an article on cnn.com today about a woman who's husband whom was stricken with cancer passed on during the last days. She couldn't find anyone to take the body to the hospital due to the lack of everything... so she put a sheet over him and was trying floating him around trying to find someone to take him. This really hit me hard as to how personal these events are. I don't normally get emotional.. but this really tugged at my heart.

In other news people with SUV's need to take out equity loans to fill up their status symbols. Yes it did hurt to fill up my car last night... 3 bucks a gallon hurts... but i get good gas milage and don't normally drive alot... to it doesn't affect me that bad. Now I took economics in college... and we all know it's a market economy... but things are getting a bit out of hand... and all of our "leaders" are oilmen.. hrm.... makes you think...
