Rules Changes necessitated by passage of SB18 in 2007

From Manchester and points north:

Take 101W to the new Route 3/Daniel Webster Highway exit. At the first traffic light, make a right into the complex for Bedford Farms.

From Merrimack and points south:

Take 101E to the Route 3 Exit. At the light, make a left. At the next light, make a left onto Route 3 and proceed to the intersection at the entrance to the Bedford Mall. Make a left at that light. Go to the second traffic light and make a left into the Bedford Farms complex.

The office is in Building 5. When you walk into the building, the entrance to the IBM offices is straight ahead on the ground floor. If there is no-one in the lobby to greet you, please ring the doorbell, and someone will let you into the office.

On page 7 - Certificate of Completion section – feeback?
On page 10 (e) – "agreement" – any feedback?

Chris noted that the subcommittee had not completed updates to Ed315.03. The subcommittee will finish that section and get it to Abbey who will get it to the council prior to the next meeting. Abbey plans that we vote on these recommended rules changes at the next meeting.

RULE CHANGE SUB-COMMITTEE
The subcommittee will finish their work on rule revisions next month. Mike Compitello, Chris Hamilton, and Keith Pfeifer volunteered to serve on the sub-committee. Chris will schedule a meeting and a chairperson will be named. There was a question on the applicability of Right-to-Know on sub-committee work. An answer will be sought and reported back at the next meeting.

ADMINISTRATIVE RULES REVISION: Mike Compitello
A copy of the revised Rules dated September 9, 2008 was distributed. The group discussed topics such as certificate of completion. Roberta indicated that it should be the parent that certifies the completion of a program and not the Department of Education. The question was raised regarding how the Department would track the certificates of completion. (There are staffing concerns at the Department.) Questions were also asked regarding FERPA, truancy, and the child labor law. Mike C. will reformat the document to have ready for the next meeting.
