NH 2007 Legislative Session

Access to public schools

last updated 12/31/06 at 7:00 AM

In NH, through the Equal Access law, home educated and non-public school students have the right to access certain programs at public schools. Districts are always free to provide more services than required by law, and are even encouraged to do so by the Child Benefit Services law. Homeschoolers who wish to take advantage of services provided by public schools often advocate for legislation that guarantees them that access. Homeschoolers who want complete autonomy from public school scrutinize this legislation to ensure that it does not invite additional regulation of their home education programs.
