Calendars are updated on Friday of each week.  The fact that a hearing is not yet scheduled for any of the dates covered by one calendar does NOT preclude it being scheduled for one of these dates in the next calendar. If you are relying on information from this summary, please check it against the most current calendar to confirm.

See the 30 Jan Calendar excerpt for information about the regular and consent calendars, and members’ notices.

Note that while hearings are scheduled for HB367 and HB368, no executive session is yet on the calendar.  It is in the executive session that representatives discuss the bills among themselves, vote on how to recommend the bill to the full House, and assign someone to write the “blurb” regarding the bill that will be the Committee’s report appearing in the Calendar for the session day on which the bills will come up for a vote before the full House.  Executive sessions are open to the public, but public comment is not typically taken.  If the executive session does not appear in next week’s calendar for the week of 16 Feb, it will presumably not happen before the week of 2 Mar, because the House is on break for the week of 23 Feb.  This is assuming that no FN, or fiscal note, becomes attached to the bill – that would require the bill “out of Education” and” over to Finance” by the 19 Feb.  (A fiscal note must be attached to a bill that is expected to have financial repercussions for the state – why HBs 367,368 have none is unclear, which is often the case!)

If you are relying on information from this calendar, please check the real thing at the link below.

Please note the Education Committee hearing on HB367 and HB368 is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11, in the afternoon.    See below.
