Banana Bank is located in the
Cayo District. The Cayo District is the largest of six districts that make up
the mainland of Belize. Cayo involves more than 2,000 square miles of diverse
terrain, lush river valleys, savannas, jungle hillsides, and rugged mountain
ridges.
Banana Bank is a bank off of the
Belize River, which serves as the home of Banana Bank Lodge. Banana Bank Lodge
is owned by John and Carolyn Carr. In 1977, the Carr's emigrated to
Belize from the U.S. and they spent the next several years developing the
lodge.
Our group has traveled for many
years to Banana Bank to offer both medical and dental care. This site has been
a favorite of many. From the exotic wildlife, including Tika the jaguar, to the
wonderful food prepared by the staff of Banana Bank Lodge, this is an experience
most enjoy. Caryolyn Carr is an artist and she has a gallery located at the
lodge. It is always a delight to visit her studio as she is working.
