It is here that you will get your first taste of San Pedro transportation...feet, bike, or golf cart.

The resort that we usually stay at is the "Caribbean Villas."  It was owned by Dr. Wil and Susan Lala.  Dr Wil Lala, from the state of Kansas, is a dentist.  He and his wife have been on Ambergris Caye for many years.  Dr. Lala is much of a humanitarian and is very respected by the people on the island.  His wife helped run the resort and always volunteers her time when needed.  Both Wil and Susan are artists.  Wil focuses his artistic interests in sculpturing and Susan paints.

This day is not only a day of travel, but many take advantage of the time and are found relaxing on the beach and exploring the town.  Old faces revisit old faces and new ones get acquainted with the people and the town of San Pedro

Welcome to Ambergris Caye

As we all arrive on Ambergris Caye, island transportation awaits to taxi us to our resort.

Our first organized gathering occurs in the evening.  While we eat some of the finest Belizean cuisine, introductions are made and the week's agenda is discussed.  It is also at this time that  work schedules for the rest of the week are distributed and groups are assigned to the various clinic sites
