Announcing the Fall Trip
October 18^th to October 27^th, 2007

Well, 2006 was another great year for our work. The two weeks had over 60 workers and we treated around 3,000 patients. The dentists, physicians, techs, hygienists, audiologists, nurses, assistants and others did a great job. The medical clinic we equipped needed our attention and thanks to our team, it is now organized and running. It is a great asses to the local people.

As I have said in the past, this trip has a high percentage of repeaters. For 2007, we have many repeaters and alot of new people wanting to go. Therefore I may add a third week depending on the response from this newsletter. While I havent set a time, it might be October 5-13, 2007.

It is nice to know so many get so much from this experience by learning it is more blessed to give. At present there is an effort to bring a little girl to this country for possible medical treatment. People are willing to give time and money for a stranger. Even the Belizeans are helping by having a fundraiser. Contrast this with a story I heard the other day where parents were having trouble getting a 3 year old strapped into a plane seat. The family was asked to deplane. On a radio talk show, no one offered to help the family. Instead, reasons such as interfering with my ipod were given why they should go.

The dental clinics concentrate on restorative (fillings) and preventive dentistry. Dental technicians make removable appliances, which has been a big success. There is a great need for dental technicians, hygienists, and assistants.

Medical clinics are always busy with patients with various needs. The medications distributed are so valuable and difficult to obtain in Belize. For physicians and their assistants, we focus on family practice type clinics. Where possible, we try to utilize specialists in their treatment areas.

This trip is very comfortable and non-threatening. The citizens of Belize are very welcoming. We are now announcing our next Belize Mission Projects, which will be October 18^th to October 27^th, 2007 and November 2^nd to November 10^th, 2007. This mission will be both medical and dental. Anyone is welcome... Dentists, Physicians, P.A.’s, N.P.’s, hygienists, dental assistants, non-medical help, and everyone in between.
